I was a guest at a function this afternoon and had the pleasure of watching and hearing Danny Vernon (DannyVernon.com) perform LIVE as Elvis Presley in all of the four decades that he was a foremost recording artist and entertainer.
Vernon’s “Illusion of Elvis” was next to perfect. The Elvis aficionados in the sixty-plus person audience, male and female, all appeared to be in smiling/grinning/adoring seventh heaven watching their favorite singer “resurrected” with such unfailing accuracy. I think Elvis himself would smile…
I took some photos of the event with the host’s camera. When she gets them downloaded, she promised to send me some–including one that I took with ‘The King’. When I get them, I’ll post a few of the best ones here.
Vernon sang all of the Elvis signature songs from ‘Love Me Tender” through ‘In the Ghetto”. I heard ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Return to Sender’, ‘All Shook Up’, ‘Teddy Bear’,’Suspicious Minds’, ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight” and several more. Had a blast. He is very, very good! If you get a chance to see him, or want to book him for one of your events, I heartily recommend that you do so. You won’t be disappointed.
